 October 24, 2016

One of my favorite Sundays is when the Primary Children do their presentation. Yesterday our children presented "I Know the Scriptures are True". We had every family member from Douhet's family participate in some way.
Kylee is the Primary Chorister. She did such a wonderful job teaching the children the beautiful songs they sang. I was so impressed with how well they knew the songs and how well they sang their songs. They bear such a powerful testimony through songs.
Laila is a Sunbeam teacher. She got to sit on the stand and keep some of those active little ones focused. Steve leaned over to me and said, "is Laila's job to sit on the stand and look beautiful?" She spent much of her time with one little one on her lap. She also sang with the kids.
Kinzley and Griffyn both sang and had speaking parts. They both did an amazing job with their parts and I loved watching them both sing their hearts out.
One of the songs they sang was a duet with two groups each singing a different verse and then joining their verses together on the third verse. It was beautiful and one of my favorite songs. The second group consisted of the young women and young men. Audrey and Alyson were part of that group. Douhet helped direct one of the groups.
Douhet also gave the closing remarks. He talked about how much he loves the fact that the primary children are taught gospel principles through sharing time and in song. He then talked about how we also support and further teach those principles at home in our Family Home Evening times and well as any other time we can encourage gospel discussions. We are not always perfect in holding Family Home Evening or daily scripture study but we can always start again and get back on track.
I loved the program. I, too, have a testimony that I know the scriptures are true. I am so grateful for what the scriptures teach us and the help they give us in our daily lives. I know that Jesus is the Christ and the scriptures testify of Him and His Atonement. I am so grateful for this testimony and the blessing it is in my life.
