In Alma it tells us if we KNOW then it is no longer faith because we know.  I suppose that very definition means faith is not actually knowing the answer.  It is trusting in the Lord that what we have faith in is true.  The longer I live the more my faith is strengthened. I sometimes receive actual knowledge to know it is true so, therefore, my faith becomes knowledge.  Because of that it strengthens my faith in other things that I still don't actually know.  I certainly don't know all things; however, I have faith to trust in the Lord for all those things I don't know because of the things that I do know.
