 April 14, 2020

In my studies during this Easter Season I was reminded of a wonderful lesson our Stake leaders taught us a few years ago. This was first presented to our youth during a wonderful Youth Conference. Troy G Parker and Jill Puffer-Parker along with our Stake President Matt Leptich taught our youth about the Savior in Gethsemane. A few months later they share this experience with the adults.

Do you know what Gethsemane means in Hebrew? It means "oil press" and suggests that the garden was a grove of olive trees in which was located an oil press. What was really amazing to learn is that when olives are first pressed the oil that comes out is RED.

The leaders had an oil press and the youth had some olives that they put in the press. They turned the press and saw for themselves the red oil. The Garden of Gethsemane is where Jesus Christ spent His last night taking upon Himself the sins of the world. The weight of that act alone caused Him to bleed from every pore. That brings a whole new meaning to what the Savior experienced in the Garden of Gethsemane.

I am so grateful for the Sacrifice He made for me. I pray I can live worthy to one day live with Him again. 🙏❤️
