There is a famous quote by Heralitus that says, "The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change."   It was similarly said by Otis in The Last Starfighter when he told Alex "Things change.  Always do."

I kind of like change.  It shakes things up and keeps life interesting.  Sometimes change is not so good, like when our engine died; but, sometimes it is good or you can put a good spin on it like getting to take a brand new 2016 pilot on vacation.

We experienced a sad and good change at Church on Sunday.  Steve, my husband, was released as 1st Counselor in our Bishopric.  That was the sad part.  He has faithfully and loving served our Bishop for the last several years.  We knew when he received his call that it was only going to be for a short time as that is what he was told by the Stake when they issued the call to him.  So in that sense it was not surprising...just a little sad.  But he will have a new adventure soon enough.  We don't know what it is yet.

The good, exciting change that occurred was our son, Douhet, was called to serve as 2nd Counselor in the same Bishopric.  Some have joked they had to release my husband because they couldn't have 2 Brother Wilcox's in the same Bishopric.  We are very excited for him and his family.  There are special blessings that come with this wonderful calling.  He will grow and his wife and children will grow and all will be blessed.

Steve is happy he gets to sleep in on Sunday mornings again...at least until his next calling.
